Welcome to PEAK!
PEAK understands that at Pacheco Elementary School in San Luis Obispo, California, extracurricular activities such as sports, music, dance, scouting, and drama provide an essential part of students’ educational and social growth. Just imagine how rewarding it feels for a child to excel in a non-academic arena and how that success can improve self-esteem, teach valuable skills, and lead to lifetime interests or even careers.
Equally as important as the skills learned are the relationships formed, both with other children and with adults leading the activities. In many cases, adults become positive role models and mentors, enriching the children’s lives and helping them develop important skills.
“Many extracurricular activities teach real-world skills, such as journalism, photography, or debate,
which can lead to lifelong interests, even careers.” Robert Needlman, MD, FAAP
PEAK’s mission is to enable all Pacheco Elementary students to participate in extracurricular activities. A volunteer-run organization, it uses 100% of its proceeds to pay tuition, purchase equipment or clothing, and reimburse expenses. PEAK operates under the Pacheco PTA, so all donations are tax deductible.
PEAK welcomes donations of all kinds: financial, equipment, and volunteer time. Consider making a donation today.
