PEAK understands that for students in San Luis Obispo, California, extracurricular activities (ECAs) such as sports, music, dance, art, and drama provide an essential part of their’ educational and social growth.
Just imagine how rewarding it feels for a child to excel in a non-academic arena and how that success can improve self-esteem, teach valuable skills, and lead to lifetime interests or even careers.
Equally as important as the skills learned are the relationships formed, both with other children and with adults leading the activities. In many cases, adults become positive role models and mentors, enriching the children’s lives and helping them develop important skills.
PEAK’s mission is to enable all TK-12 students in San Luis Obispo to participate in extracurricular activities. A volunteer-run nonprofit organization, PEAK uses 100% of its proceeds to pay tuition, purchase equipment or clothing, and reimburse expenses. PEAK is a 501(c)(3) organization, so all donations are tax deductible.

What We Do
We Raise Funds for Registration
PEAK volunteers raise funds to cover registration fees for students' extracurricular activities. Our primary annual fundraiser, "Peaks for PEAK," sponsored by the Mountain Air in San Luis Obispo, is held in March. We also encourage donations from individuals and local businesses.
We Make Important Connections
PEAK helps connect disadvantaged TK - 12 students in SLO with teams, classes, coaches, and teachers who can help them pursue their extracurricular passion. If you would like to be involved, contact us today!
We Assist Parents & Caregivers
PEAK volunteers assist parents and caregivers in finding ECAs aligned with their children's interests and skills, and we help them register for activities, find necessary equipment and uniforms, and understand their expectations: e.g., practice, transportation, competitions, etc.
