PEAK’s mission is to enable all San Luis Obispo TK-12 students with verified financial need to participate in extracurricular activities. PEAK is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization, and every dime raised pays for activity tuition, equipment/supplies, and operating expenses.
PEAK scholarships help San Luis Obispo families who, without our help, could not afford to enroll their children in extracurricular activities. In an effort to serve the greatest number of students, scholarships do not exceed $200 per student per calendar year.
Mid-Year PEAK Participation Numbers •
Since January, we’ve helped more than 200 San Luis Obispo students enroll in extracurricular activites:
- 200+ students registered to play AYSO soccer with PEAK support
- 4 students received registration support and gloves for SLO Girls Softball
- 4 students registered for Pacific Coast Youth Football
- 3 students enrolled at Central Coast Gymastics
- 1 student is taking classes at Koei-Kan Karate-Do of SLO
Currently we are seeking opportunities for students to enroll in art classes. Contact us if you have any ideas for making that happen!
Parent Testimonial •
“Our family has been so blessed to be a part of the generosity of the PEAK program and participate in local sports!
What a delightful gift to a community of children who wouldn’t otherwise be able to play.”
– Erika
Play It Forward •
Does your family have any gently used sports equipment or gear gathering dust in your garage?
New this fall, you can “play it forward” by donating those items for PEAK students as part of the SLCUSD Athletics for Achievement program, which uses sports to connect students to their schools and to develop academic, leadership, and social skills.
So if you have stuff your kids have outgrown, drop it off in one of these bins at your school this fall!
